North Eastern Region cap: the 2023 guideline’s worked examples (para 3.3, Case 2 and Case 4) cap NER grants at ₹25 lakh even where 90% of cost would be higher, including a ₹70 lakh metro new-build project: “In case of NER projects, the maximum grant which may be sanctioned would be Rs.25.00 lakhs, the matching share of the grantee organization being Rs.45.00 lakhs.” Plan on ₹25 lakh as the NER ceiling and confirm with WZCC.
Before you apply: The Ministry asks for an NGO-DARPAN Unique ID and proof of three years of registration and cultural work. If your basics are not in place, see our NGO Darpan registration and 12AB and 80G registration services. 12AB/80G is not listed as a condition of this scheme, but it is part of keeping your NGO grant-ready.
How to apply, step by step

- Applying without an NGO-DARPAN Unique ID.
FAQs

The Government’s liability stays at the original sanctioned amount; the extra must come from your own resources.
Who decides?
An Expert Committee evaluates proposals, and its recommendations go to the Culture Minister for approval.
