Global EbA Fund call page and Call for Proposals last verified 22 Oct 2026
Short answer: Legally recognised NGOs, CBOs and other organisations working in ODA-eligible countries, including India, can apply to the Global EbA Fund. It will award 10 grants of up to USD 500,000 each for projects of up to 24 months that scale ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) to climate change. Apply on the IUCN Grants Portal via the “Apply Here” link on the call page. Submissions close 16 Nov 2026 (closing time not stated by funder; submit early).
This is a competitive call. Only successful applicants will be contacted.
Practical answers
Who should apply
- NGOs, INGOs, community-based organisations, Indigenous Peoples’ organisations, universities, research institutes, think tanks, and private sector companies working on climate change adaptation, in any Indian State or UT.
- Consortia, applying through one lead “Applicant Organisation” that becomes the contract party.
- Projects that build on existing EbA work and show how results will continue after the funding ends.
Who should skip it
- Stand-alone field implementation or business-as-usual projects: the Fund does not support them.
- Brand-new projects with no existing work to build on.
- Proposals that route funds to government bodies: the Fund will not grant to governments, and sub-granting to them is not allowed.
- Seed-grant schemes: the Fund will not support a seed grants programme directly.

FCRA: check before you apply
Foreign grant: Indian NGOs normally need FCRA registration or prior permission (FCRA 2010) to receive these funds. General information only, not legal advice.
If your NGO has neither, see our FCRA registration and prior permission service before you commit to a project timeline.
