MSRVVP New Veda Pathshala and Guru-Shishya Parampara Units 2026-27: Eligibility and How to Apply

MSRVVP

Short answer: Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishthan (MSRVVP), Ujjain, is inviting applications from new Veda Pathshalas run by registered voluntary institutions and from individual Gurus for Guru-Shishya Parampara (GSP) units, for 2026-27. Applications are offline only, by Speed Post or the drop box in Ujjain. The last date is 31 October 2026. NGO Darpan registration is mandatory for Pathshalas. Honorarium follows MSRVVP guideline rates, subject to availability of grants, and selection is not guaranteed.

What this call actually is

The official title is “Invitation of Applications for New Veda Pathshalas/New Guru-Shishya Parampara Units (2026-27 and subsequent years)” (Notification 2159, F.No. 22-19/2026/(Acd.) MSRVVP, dated 01-10-2026). MSRVVP is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Education. It is asking for applications for temporary financial assistance, and the notice is plain that this is not a promise of permanent grants: a selected Pathshala or GSP unit has to apply every year, and support may be discontinued.

For 2026-27 the notice lists 30 newly sanctioned Pathshalas and 40 GSP units, subject to budgetary funds from the Government of India. That is a small number for the whole country, so treat this as competitive.

The call is open across India. The notice gives preference to border areas, far-flung rural areas and Vanvasi areas. One rule surprises people: MSRVVP does not provide a teaching position at a Pathshala or unit located in the teacher’s native place or home, or within their home state. Check this for each teacher before you post anything.

Veda Pathshala: eligibility conditions

If your bye-laws only say “education and culture”, this is the point most likely to sink you. Changing objectives takes a proper resolution and filing with the Registrar, which cannot be done in a week, so be honest about where you stand. Our guides on society vs trust vs Section 8, society registration and trust registration explain how objectives are set up for the next cycle; the notice says it will be treated as a rolling advertisement in future.

GSP unit: for individual Gurus

How much is paid?

Honorarium rates as per MSRVVP guidelines (e.g. GSP Guru ₹25,000/month, student ₹5,000/month), subject to availability of grants. Notifications 2159 and 2179 state no amount. The rates come from the official proformas: PATHASHALA.pdf pp.30–31 for Veda teacher honorarium and the student stipend, PATHASHALA.pdf p.32 for Sanskrit and modern-subject teacher rates, and GSP.pdf p.11 for the GSP Guru and students, all checked 24 Oct 2026. Rates vary with years of experience, students are capped at ten per Veda teacher, and every figure is subject to availability of grants. There is no total grant or ceiling, and nothing here is guaranteed.

Documents for a Pathshala

The NGO registration documents guide helps you pull the registration papers together quickly.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Download the notification and the correct proforma (PATHASHALA.pdf or GSP.pdf).
  2. Pathshalas: confirm your Darpan ID is active. If you have none, see our NGO Darpan registration guide and service (₹1,000 incl. GST). Darpan is quick but not instant, so start today.
  3. Fill the proforma, attach every document and affidavit, and keep a full photocopy.
  4. Send it by Government Speed Post, or drop it in the drop box at the gate, addressed to Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Vedavidya Pratishthan, Vedavidya Marg, Chintaman Ganesh, P.O. Jawasiya, UJJAIN – 456006 (M.P.).
  5. The last date is 31 October 2026 under Adhisuchna 2179. The extension notice gives no time, and the original notice 2159 said 5:00 PM, so apply well before. With Speed Post, post it several days ahead and keep the receipt.

What happens next: an Expert Committee selects, and the notice says quality is the sole criterion. Lobbying or phone calls may lead to debarment, and MSRVVP does not accept any money or fees.

Common mistakes

Important: NGOGrant.in does not award or guarantee grants. Free information and official links are always free. Any fees are only for documentation / proposal preparation help — never for “sanctioning” a grant. Beware anyone who takes money to guarantee funding.

See how this compares with other public money in government grants vs CSR funding, and browse more calls in our funding opportunities directory. For registration papers, the NGO Registration Preparation & First 90 Days pack and the Complete NGO Documentation Toolkit can help you prepare; they do not make you eligible.

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply for a new Veda Pathshala grant from MSRVVP?

Registered voluntary institutions already running a Veda Pathshala at their own cost. The notice requires registration under the Registration Act, a PAN with a separate bank account, NGO Darpan registration, Saswara Veda Adhyayana-Adhyapana written into your objectives, three years of own-cost work, and MSRVSSB affiliation for three years or more. Institutions already getting a grant from any government source are not eligible.

Is the Guru-Shishya Parampara unit for NGOs?

No. GSP units are for individual Veda Gurus. The Guru needs details of complete Saswara Veda study and memorisation, and three or more years of affiliation to the Pratishthan or MSRVSSB. The minimum age for a GSP teacher is 21.

What is the last date and time?

31 October 2026, as extended by Adhisuchna 2179 dated 21 October 2026. That extension states no time. The original Notification 2159 said 5:00 PM, and all other conditions remain unchanged, so make sure your packet reaches Ujjain well before that day.

How much does MSRVVP pay?

Honorarium rates as per MSRVVP guidelines (e.g. GSP Guru ₹25,000/month, student ₹5,000/month), subject to availability of grants. The notification itself states no amount, and these guideline rates are not a promise. Selection is decided by an Expert Committee on quality alone and is not guaranteed.

Can I apply online?

No. The notice is offline only. Send the filled proforma with all documents by Government Speed Post, or drop it in the drop box at the gate of the Pratishthan in Ujjain 456006. There is no online portal and MSRVVP takes no application fee.
