Open NGO Grants in India: Calls Closing Soon

Short answer: This page lists NGO grant calls in India that are open now and have a fixed closing date. As of 28 Oct 2026, 31 calls are open. The next to close is Atlassian Foundation: Education in the AI Era Open Call, on 30 Oct 2026, 6:29 PM IST (11:59 PM AEDT). Punjab NGRAM: NGO project proposals, FY 2026-27 closes later the same day. We update the list every week from our funding directory, so check the Last verified date on each row, and confirm on the funder’s own page before you apply.

NGOGrant.in does not award grants, sanction funding, or charge any fee to “approve,” “release,” or guarantee a grant. Any fees are only for documentation / proposal preparation help — never for “sanctioning” a grant.

Open calls, sorted by deadline (as of 28 Oct 2026)

Some calls cover one State or region: Punjab’s NGRAM, UNFPA’s Rajasthan partnership, the Kadapa notice in Andhra Pradesh, and the two Australian Direct Aid rounds for north India (New Delhi) and Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and the east (Kolkata). Others, like the Ministry of Culture grant, are open across India, and several foreign funders accept Indian applicants. Amounts are shown only where the funder’s documents give one; if they don’t, the row says so. Click the grant name for our full guide.

Rows are drawn from the open dated cards in our funding directory (directory last updated 28 Oct 2026). A call drops off this list once its deadline passes.

Foreign grant: Indian NGOs normally need FCRA registration or prior permission (FCRA 2010) to receive these funds. General information only, not legal advice.

Rolling: apply while the portal is open

These two have no fixed closing time we can confirm, so they are not in the table above. Check the portal before you prepare a full application.

Before you apply: the registrations that decide most of these

Most rejections here will come down to paperwork, not ideas. Before you spend a week on a proposal, check these against the eligibility column:

If you want help getting the papers in order, our FCRA Readiness pack, Project Proposal & Budget Pack and CSR Proposal & Due Diligence Pack (paid products) are for preparation only, no guarantee of any grant. For the bigger picture on choosing a route, read Grants for NGOs in India: find the right grant and apply.

How we verify and update this list

Every row comes from a card in our funding directory. Each card was checked against the funder’s own page or notice, or, where the row says so, against the published RFP text and application form (for example, the Bosch BGSW RFP, which has no Bosch website page). The Last verified column gives that date. Deadlines are converted to IST from the funder’s own time zone. Where a funder gives only a date, we say “no time stated” rather than guess one.

We rebuild the table every week and remove calls whose deadline has passed. If a funder changes a date between updates, the funder’s page wins. Spotted a mistake? Write to contact@ngogrant.in with the grant name and the official link, and we will recheck it.

FAQs

How often is this list updated?

Every week. We rebuild the table from our funding directory, keep only calls whose deadline is still ahead, and show the date each source was last checked. This version was built on 28 Oct 2026.

Which of these suit a small or new NGO?

Look first at the smaller calls, such as Wikimedia’s India Rapid Project or the Turtle Conservation Fund, and at government calls that ask mainly for an NGO Darpan ID and PAN, such as Punjab’s NGRAM. Large calls (Carnegie, ICMR, SBI Foundation’s RFP) expect years of track record or institutional backing. Read the eligibility column before you start writing.

Do I need FCRA registration for the foreign grants here?

Normally yes. Indian NGOs need FCRA registration or prior permission (FCRA 2010) to receive foreign funds, and some funders, such as People Powered, say so in their call. General information only, not legal advice.

What does “no time stated” mean against a deadline?

The funder gave a date but no closing time or time zone. Treat the day before as your real deadline, because portals and inboxes often close earlier than you expect.

Why is a grant I saw elsewhere not on this list?

We list a call only when it has a fixed future deadline and we have checked it against the funder’s own page or published call documents. Rolling routes and partnership enquiries stay in the full funding directory. If we have missed or got something wrong, write to contact@ngogrant.in.

Does NGOGrant.in award these grants or charge a fee?

No. NGOGrant.in does not award grants, sanction funding, or charge any fee to “approve,” “release,” or guarantee a grant. Any fees are only for documentation / proposal preparation help — never for “sanctioning” a grant. Each funder makes its own decision, so be wary of anyone who asks for money to secure a grant.
